Rise and shine Purwokerto, Indonesia. It’s so good in the feeling to wake up witnessing the sun touches the surrounding. After a late-night arrival, we’re finally knocked for a breakfast in our room in the guesthouse. We are served by their food. It looks different to me, I have adjustments to their foods here because it was spicy and it has a pungent smell. I’m still in a transition stage to their food. After fixing ourselves our student buddies pick us, for our campus tour in Universitas Muhamadiyah Purwokerto or UMP. In where we stroll around the campus and witness the children from different schools in town wearing their attire, it is like a scouting event in the Philippines, after that we have our minute of stroll, we meet the faculty of education, as well as we have our welcoming ceremony with them. We're able to meet Bu Lufti the campus coordinator of the SEA teacher program in UMP, and the coordinators. They have a warm welcome to us headed by Mrs. Lufti the international affairs officer.
For another time around we are served by a portion of food, that is one of their traditional food here in Purwokerto, namely “tempe” it has granules of soya beans mix with flour and fried as well as they have their almost similar to "palabok" in the Philippines. As well as, we taste a kind of traditional sweets in town that has a variety of colors. My taste bud is under adjustment but will bravely taste them all.

I'm so glad to experience wearing their color blue coat embed by the logo of their university because we took a picture for our identification card and it looks so good. As well as it feels so privilege, to wear such coat that they have. Each of them was issued coat individually by the school as well as a hat, it looks so comfortable and feels good and formal. We meet another set of people in international affairs of the school, who receive us with full of gladness, that made me comfortable and feels at ease. We stay at the university for hours, then we went to their biggest mall in town namely “Rita Mall” in where we bought some stuff. I was amazed at some of their products for I only saw it here in Indonesia, such as the crystal sugar, and some of their fruits and vegetables. I so amazed by how they look different.

Indeed the day ended up productive for in just a bit we able to explore some parts of the town, such as the front of the mall they have their Purwokerto town square, one of the spots that tourist visit, because of their street foods, but we went there at day time so we weren't able to try their foods, for they only display at night. The experience so far was five stars, for everything went so smooth. May this journey is a good step to commenced our exploration in the town of Purwokerto.

At our evening stroll around the village we able to take a sneak to their street foods. I wasn’t able to taste them because I choose not to buy some. Everything was so new to my sight, which made me ask their names. Afterward as we decided to come back to MESS, we pass this isolated street food stand, it made us curious that’s why we inquire if what food it was and its price, but due to language barrier we were not able to agree on things, that’s why we ask to excuse and not to buy any more. But in our surprise, she gets the food displayed and, she makes signs that we can take it for free. We heartily utter, “terima kasih banyak” and try it. The food is made from coconut meat that has a filling of your choice, it can be chocolate or sugar. It was just amazing that behind barriers it come put positively.
